Carlen "Bug" Charles was born February 13, 1974. She was 6th child born to Lindsay Earl Charles and Ruth Ella Dansby-Charles. Carlen accepted Christ at an early age and joined Sweet Home Baptist Church in Prescott / Upchurch, Arkansas.

She loved taking care of people, so she chose to become a CNA. In her spare time, you would find her spending time fishing with her grandchildren, daughters and other family and friends.

She proceeded in death by her father, Lindsay Earl Charles, two brothers: Michael Lindsey Charles and Gregory Charles.

She leaves to cherish her memories are her four daughters: Teaira Charles, Jacqueline Charles, Jasmine Charles, and Deneka (Maurice) Gaskin and a niece she treated as a daughter, Kimberly Lacy, 11 grandchildren, her mother, Ruth Ella Charles; sisters: Lisa (Rickey) Woodberry, Charlotte (Darnell) Watts, Melissa (Quentin) Flowers, Tracy Charles, Maybell Charles, Shameka Charles; brothers: Lindsay McCoy Patterson and a host of nieces, nephews and friends who will miss her dearly.
