Celebrating The Life of Anthony Bragg Jr.
Elder Anthony Bragg, Jr. was born to the late Deacon Hosea Bragg Sr. and Mother Josephine Bragg on September 24, 1963, in Chidester, Arkansas. He was the fourth male of fourteen children. He was saved at the age of seventeen years old. He was a member of the Rocky Hill Church of God In Christ in Chidester, Arkansas. He came up under some of the older Saints in the church and knew only Holiness. For example, Elder Leo Williams, Elder H. W. Satterwhite, Supt. Robert Harbor, Elder M. Torrence, Elder Walter Jenkins and current Superintendent Recarto King, to name a few. He attended Pleasant Hill Elementary School and later integrated and graduated from Chidester High School with the class of 1983. After finishing school, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he worked in Security and lived for over thirty years. Anthony had a calling on his life. He served under Bishop Jeffery Ross at New Deliverance Church of God In Christ, until his health began to fail him, and he decided to move back home. He declared that he was coming back to fellowship with Rocky Hill Church of God In Christ in 2019, and in 2020, this came to pass.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Deacon Hosea Bragg, Sr. and Mother Josephine Bragg, Joe Willie Furlow (brother), Hosea Bragg, Jr. (brother), David Bragg (brother), and Sharon Ann Mixon (sister).
He leaves to cherish his precious memories four brothers, Herbert Bragg (Doretha) of N. Prince George County, Virginia, Jessie J. Bragg of Conway Arkansas, Edward L. Bragg (Veronica) and Arthur L. Bragg (Patrice) of Mobile, Alabama. Five sisters, Georgia Hall, Jossie Berry (Charlie) and Stephanie Darrough, all of Camden, Arkansas, Diane Alexander (Willie) of Arlington, Texas and Dorothy Page of Prescott, Arkansas. One very special Aunt, Willie Nell Bragg of Chidester, Arkansas and a host of brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and community of other relatives and friends.
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord; and he delighteth in his way. Psalms 37:23
