Esther B.
Fenderson
Apr 15, 1932 — Jan 16, 2021
Camden
Esther B. Fenderson was born in Ripley, Tennessee on April 15, 1932 to the late Corrine Maben Thompson and the late George Wesley Williams. She was the second child born of Corrine's four children. Her school years were spent in Ashport, Tennessee and she later moved to East St. Louis, IL, to pursue a different life for her and her family.
She united with the Southern Mission Baptist Church where she was an active member of the usher board. She traveled the world from Germany to California creating many wonderful memories.
She was not just the proud mother of two sons James, and Bruce, but was a mother to all whether she birthed them or not. She truly believed it took a village and did not mind voicing her opinion or correction. That is what endured her to many, and she passed so many life lessons on to all. Love was an action word for her; you felt she loved you. She was the glue that helped to keep reunions going by organizing and making sure they were a success. Esther could cook like no other and often could be found up early cooking for her family and others. She was known for her baking and every holiday would have people lined up to purchase cakes and pies.
Esther was employed at the Washington University Hospital in St. Louis, MO where she retired with recognition for her over 30 years of service.
On July 24, 1976, she married Robert Fenderson.
Esther was preceded in death by her parents, son Bruce E. Moore, brother Henry Thomas Thompson and two sisters Erma Jean Crook and Mary Louise Andrews.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her son, James Moore (Judy) of Camden, AR; her grandchildren, Lavoy Fenderson, Deanna King, Tina Teal, Bruce E. Moore, Jr., Stephen Moore (Amanda), James D. Moore (Victoria), Jamaal Moore, Cori Moore, Jalen Moore and Marlisha Moore. Her great-grandchildren Alexis King, James King, Tavian Teal, Jarius Teal, Brielle Moore, Brianna Kourves, Malachi Moore, Christian Moore, Olivia Moore, Chase Moore, Janessa Robles, James Moore III, Jeremiah Moore, and Jocelyn Moore; her favorite niece, Jacqueline Thompson; two nephews Terry Thompson and Henry Thompson Jr.; and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
