Fern Walker Reed was born December 8, 1934 in Hope, Arkansas to the Macio and Danella Coleman Walker. She departed this life on July 16, 2017 at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas.

She attended Yeager High School in the Class of 1948.

She gave her life to Christ at an early age and joined Zion Hill Baptist Church in the year of 1953 under the leadership of Rev. Samuel Morris, where she faithfully served as a dedicated Sunday School Teacher for the Adult Class, a Choir Director for the Senior Choir, Red Circle & Sunbeam Circle, Y. W. A, Section #4 under the leadership of Moderator Rev. E. A. Porchia, Missionary Society under Sis. L. V. Mann, and Deaconess Board under Sis. Bessie White.

She was married in Holy Matrimony to Luther Reed on March 21, 1958. He preceded her in death along with her parents and seven sisters, Equellia, Florence, Danies, Mary Ann, Barbara, Ruthie Jean and Dorothy and two brothers, John and Macio Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sisters, Lillie Mae Richardson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Pinkie Mae Click of Osceola, Arkansas, two cousins, Mary Williams, Lauren Perkins both of Hope, Arkansas, and host of nieces and nephews. Fern always encouraged her family to remain steadfast in their walk with the Lord.
