Obituary

Hattie Marie Gill affectionately known as Ma Hattie or Momma Hattie was born in Camden, Arkansas to her loving parents, Ruthie Mae Johnson and Charlie Johnson who preceded her in death. Hattie was a loving caretaker of her family and dear friends whenever a need was present.

Hattie worked in the Human Services industry in a number of ways; restaurant and food service, retail, nursing, convalescent, and dietary support. Hattie was strong, loving, and cared for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren greatly.

Ma Hattie was no stranger to the church and the word growing up as well as later into her adulthood. Hattie renewed her faith and found refuge in the word through devotions, virtual church service (since Covid-19), and reading her large print Bible daily.

Momma Hattie created memories with her family in many ways. Hattie spent many years living with her son in Northern California, visited her daughter in Aurora, Colorado, and sought out her resting days in Southern California with her youngest son. If you ever heard Hattie tell stories, you would have heard her speak most high of her children. They were the joy of her life and she made sure that was reiterated in her last days as well.

God calls us from labor to rest in due season. Hattie life's transition was on September 12, 2021.Her memory will be cherished by, her three children, Darrell Johnson Sr. (wife Danielle Johnson) of Manteca, CA, Tyressa Johnson (partner Krischele Gill) of Aurora, CO, and Tony Boston of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. Her siblings Charlie Johnson (wife Shirley Johnson) of Little Rock, AR, Frederick Johnson of Oakland, CA, Mary Jo Johnson of Oakland, CA, and Ruth Johnson (Edward) of Camden, AR. Her sister Mable Alford (Cardell Alford) of Oakland, CA preceded her in death. Her five grandchildren Darrell Johnson Jr., preceded in death DeWayne Johnson, Dewuan Johnson, Dezzhane Johnson, and Jhorden Gill and her three great grandchildren Adrian Johnson, Darrell Johnson III, and Dallas Johnson, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and nieces.
