Kevin Devon
Burris
Sep 23, 1961 — Apr 23, 2026
Camden
Kevin Devon Burris was born on September 23, 1961, to Harvey and Lorene Burris. He peacefully departed this life on April 23, 2026, at Silver Oak Health and Rehabilitation in Camden, Arkansas.
At an early age, Kevin gave his life to Christ and became a member of Good Hope Baptist Church. As he grew older, his love for music became a meaningful part of his life. He found joy in playing the piano and sharing his gift not only at his home church but also at several other churches throughout the community. Through his music, Kevin uplifted others and brought comfort and spirit into every room he played in.
Kevin attended Camden High School and later continued his education at several community colleges. He was known for his quiet strength, kind heart, and willingness to help others without hesitation.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Lorene Burris; two brothers, George Burris and Wayne Burris; and one sister, Rosemary Cunningham.
Although Kevin did not have biological children of his own, he played an important role in helping raise many of his nieces and nephews, loving them as his own and leaving a lasting impact on their lives.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his brother, Dave Burris of Camden, Arkansas; three nephews, Eddie Ray (Erica) Sumler of Camden, Arkansas, Dana (Amy) of Bernice, Louisiana, and Reggie Miller of Texarkana, Texas; five nieces, Michelle (Anthony) Curtis, Debra Cunningham, Devonda Smith, and Crystal Ellis, all of Camden, Arkansas, and Ramona Burris of Little Rock, Arkansas; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Kevin will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his love of music, and the care he showed to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the lives he touched.
