Lewis Alfred Hill, Jr. was born on July 27, 1955, in Wisconsin to the late Claudia Hill and Lewis Hill, Sr. He peacefully departed this life at home surrounded by the love of his family.
Lewis proudly served his country in the United States Army beginning in 1978. Following his military service, he dedicated more than 22 years of employment to Celtic before continuing his career as a truck driver with Woodfield until his health declined.
Lewis was a man who found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, hardworking spirit, and the love he shared with his family and friends.
Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Claudia Hill and Lewis Hill, Sr.; his stepdaughter, Monica Johnson; his grandson, Devonta Hill, Sr.; and his great-grandson, Malikhi Hill.
He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife of 45½ years, Mae Helen Hill; his children, Veronica Hall of El Dorado, Arkansas, Jeffery (Johna) Hill of Columbia, Eric Johnson of Camden, Arkansas, Cedrick Hill of Camden, Arkansas, and Fredrick (Morgan) Hill of Nashville, Tennessee.
He also leaves to mourn his passing his beloved siblings: Lois (Bobby) Box of Chidester, Arkansas; Simone Palmer of Russellville, Arkansas; Cassandra (late Victor) Kelly of Camden, Arkansas; Linda Thompson of Camden, Arkansas; Tomeca (Rodney) Howze of DeSoto, Texas; Sharee (Arthur) Abston of Little Rock, Arkansas; Michael (Lisa) Hill of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; Kentrell Hill of Camden, Arkansas; Johnny Rodgers of Camden, Arkansas; Joe Lewis Hill of Memphis, Tennessee; Lorenzo Hill of Iowa; and Lonnie Hill of Arizona.
Lewis's legacy continues through his cherished grandchildren: Shanice Hall, Eddreka Hall, Landon Johnson, Jada Johnson, Shiloh Hill, Journee Hill, and Charlotte Hill.
He is also survived by his beloved great-grandchildren: Isaiah Harris, Za'Nhiya Henry, Za'Rhiya Henry, Braylee Hall, Devarick Benson, Javarious Harris, and Elijah Johnson, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though Lewis has departed from our sight, his love, wisdom, and memory will remain in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
