Sister Linda Kay Highsmith was born April 24, 1950 to Rodell and Mildred Patton Atkins. She departed this life on September 17, 2019 at Medical Center of South Arkansas in El Dorado, AR.

At an early age Linda Kay confessed her faith in Christ and accepted him as her personal savior. Sis. Highsmith united with the Mt. Gillard Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. W.M. Radford. Later she united with the Starlight Baptist Church and lastly Calvary Missionary Baptist Church where she remained a faithful member until her heavenly departure.

Sister Linda Highsmith was a 1968 graduate of Lafayette High School in Camden Arkansas. She was employed at Evans St. Clair in East Camden for 20 years. She was also employed at General Dynamics in East Camden for 10 years.

During her time of employment she made friends that lasted a lifetime. Sister Linda Kay loved shopping, talking, going out to eat and hanging out with her friends.

Sister Linda Kay was united in holy matrimony to Andrew Hatley and to this union Tomiko Hatley was born. Later she married T. J. Highsmith and to this union Terrye Highsmith was born.

Sister Linda Kay Highsmith was preceded in death by her parents Rodell and Mildred Patton Atkins and husband T.J. Highsmith.

She leaves to cherish her memory daughters Tomiko Thrist-Jenkins of South Bend, Indiana; Terrye (Wayne) Highsmith Gordon of Camden, Arkansas; son Mark (Shameka) Ellis of Conway, Arkansas. Grandchildren Karrington Gordon, Anthony Ellis and Mason Ellis. Step-grandchildren Shanarra Golden, Darrion Thomas, Sharina Wilson and Anana Griffin. Special friends Kathy Stevens, Annette Flannigan, Loretta Bell, Catherine Bevins and Mark Ellis.
