Monica Lachelle
Ellis
Aug 23, 1973 — Jul 17, 2026
Camden
"To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." – Ecclesiastes 3:1
On August 23, 1973, God blessed the lives of Noda Morine Coleman Ellis and Bobby Ray Ellis with the precious gift of a daughter, Monica Lachelle Ellis. She was born at Ouachita County Medical Center in Camden, Arkansas, and from the very beginning, her life was a blessing to all who knew and loved her.
On Friday, July 17, 2026, God, in His infinite wisdom, called Monica from labor to reward. Surrounded by the love of family and friends, she peacefully departed this earthly life at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas, following a brief illness. She was 52 years of age.
Following the separation of her parents, Monica relocated with her mother to Muskegon, Michigan, where she attended Muskegon Public Schools through the tenth grade. After the passing of her beloved mother in 1998, Monica returned to Camden, Arkansas, in 2000 to be near her father. She lovingly remained by his side until the Lord called him home.
Monica was a woman whose heart overflowed with love for her family. She possessed a kind spirit, a compassionate heart, and a joyful personality that drew people to her. Family was the center of her world, and she never hesitated to show her love through her actions.
Although Monica never had children of her own, she embraced the cherished role of aunt with all her heart. She adored her seventeen nieces and nephews and was affectionately known as the "fun Auntie." She delighted in taking them on weekly outings, creating treasured memories that they will carry forever. Beyond the laughter and adventures, Monica was also their protector. Their parents never questioned their safety because they knew Monica loved and cared for them as if they were her own. She faithfully checked on her family, offering words of encouragement, support, and unconditional love whenever it was needed. If you were family, Monica made sure you knew you were loved.
Monica's beautiful spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering devotion to those she loved left an unforgettable mark on every life she touched. She will be deeply missed, but the memories of her kindness, generosity, and love will remain in our hearts forever.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noda Morine Coleman Ellis and Bobby Ray Ellis; her brother, Kenny Ellis; her maternal grandparents, Clotel Anderson and Gussie West; and her paternal grandmother, Maudie Jones.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory her loving siblings: Philip (Marie) Coleman of Muskegon, Michigan; Phyllis Harrison of Dallas, Texas; Bobby (Samantha) Ellis of Fort Wayne, Indiana; and James (Sheilaann) Ainsworth of Camden, Arkansas. She also leaves her devoted lifelong friends, Sharon Gathers of Muskegon, Michigan, Tara Williams, Greg McElroy, and Charlie Burnell, all of Camden, Arkansas; her beloved seventeen nieces and nephews; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends whose lives were forever enriched by her love.
Lovingly Submitted,
The Family
