A CELEBRATION OF LOVE

Ollie V. Wesley, beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully.  She was born on March 26, 1939, in Lester Arkansas, To Mr. Earl Bates and Mrs. Lucille Allen Bates.  From her earliest days, Ollie radiated kindness and strength, qualities that would define a life devoted to family, faith and community.

Most of Ollie V's childhood was spent in Mt. Holly, Arkansas, where she filled her days with laughter, learning and friendship.  A proud graduate of New Hope High School, she carried her small-town grit and warmth into every chapter of her life.

Ollie's faith was the cornerstone of her world.  She joined Faith in Christ at an early age and pledged her membership at The Union AME Church, where she found spiritual guidance, lifelong friends, and a place to serve others.

She was united in holy matrimony to Willie G. Wesley Sr., with whom she shared decades of partnership and devotion.  Their union brought forth six children, two of whom preceded her in death.  Together they built a home overflowing in love, good food, and endless encouragement.

Ollie V's legacy lives on through those she loved and nurtured:

Son:  Willie G. Wesley Jr. and his wife, Annette
Daughter:  Jacqueline K. Sanders and her husband, Herschel
Daughter:  Wilma Johnson and her husband, Rodney
Daughter:  Rev. Dr. Judith A. Wesley, mother of 6 children

3 Great grandchildren:  Kiara Porter, Kameron Porter and Avery HicksA host of Nieces, Nephews and extended family members whose lives she touched. Her gently spirit, lively smile, and unwavering support will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.  In honoring Ollie's memory, we celebrate a life well-lived,  a life that taught us the true meaning of love, compassion, resilience, and faith.
