Patricia Ann
Maddox-Washington
Nov 19, 1952 — Jun 23, 2026
Camden
"To Everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Time to Born:
Sister Pat was born on November 19,1952, in Camden, Arkansas to MaeRetta Clark and L.C. Maddox. Being the second born of seven children, she was the only girl. After the untimely passing of her mother, MaeRetta, God blessed her grandparents, Roosevelt and Catherine Furlow the strength to love and care for her and her six brothers along with their three children.
A Time to Plant:
At an early age, Sister Patricia joined and attended Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Bryant and served as a faithful member. In 1974, she later joined Madison Street Church of Christ with her husband Charles.
A Time to Buildup:
Even though Pat was a proud 1972 graduate of Camden High School, she was also a proud member of Lincoln High School Alumni. After high school, Pat continued her schooling at SAU in pursuing a degree in Education.
A lovable teachers assistant in the 1980's, Patricia started her journey at Fred Whiteside Elementary many years before changing profession to the Industrial Area. She worked for many years at General Dynamics. After their closing, she continued working in the area at ARC up until her health started declining. Pat refused to sit down. She went back to work in the field of assisted living for others over Ouachita County. Never shy of words, Pat never met a stranger. Her beautiful infectious soul touched any and everyone she met with humor, laughter, kindness and most y'all love! Whenever there was a need, Pat would be that person to help even if it meant giving the shirt off of her back.
A Time to Love:
In 1974, Pat married the love of her life, Charles Washington. To this union, two children were born. For 31 years of matrimony, together, they cared and shared a love for their family of six children. Patricia continued to pour her love into her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, her siblings, other family members, and friends.
A Time to say Goodbye:
On Tuesday, June 23, 2026, surrounded by her family by her side at Ouachita County Medical Center, Sister Pat entered eternal rest.
A Time to Reflect:
Sister Pat was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, her brother, Larry Hunter, and her loving husband, Charles of thirty-one years.
A Time to Mourn:
Pat leaves to cherish her precious memories: three sons, Joe Lewis, Raymond Hill Sr. and Strodney Washington (Centeeria); three daughters, RoTonya Sterling (Bradley), Tomeka Maddox Fletcher (Anthony) and Portia Washington. Her most prized gifts were her grandchildren, Courtland Maddox, Raymond Hill Jr. MaKyla Snell (Cornelius), La Titia Washington, Khassidy Porchia, Kyandrea Yarbrough, Charles Moten, Justin Hill, Keiland Moten, Layla Hill, Paige Moten, Raiya Hill, Aryanna Turner and Dominique Ferrel. She was more blessed to have four great grandchildren, Khayson Porchia, Cameron Snell, Azora Turner, and Corbin Snell.
She leaves one sister, Sharon Wright. Seven brothers, Dornal Clark (Josephine), Charles Armstrong (Mary), Donnie Clark, Jerry Clark, Stevie Williams, David Maddox (Angela) and Kenny Clark.
Two special nieces, Tia Stephens and Delania Williams, and one special nephew Donnie Clark (Maine) whom she loved as her own. A special childhood friend Gloria Watson-Neal.
