Ruby Wofford was born  in Sparkman, Arkansas to Henry and Sadie Hughes on May, 16, 1941.  She was the youngest of four children. They move to Camden, Arkansas in 1951.

She accepted Christ early in life and was a member of the Greater St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership Dr. I.R. Dunn until her health failed.

She married and divorced Charles Edward Wofford.  To this union one son was born.

She preceded in death by both of her parents; a brother, Leon Hughes, and sister, Wilber Jean Harrell.

She leaves to cherish her memories a son, Frederick Charles Wofford of Camden, Arkansas; one sister, Herdisyeen Hill of Camden, Arkansas; a niece, Carolyn O'Neal Douglas of San Bernardino, California; 4 nephews, Kenneth (Sheila) Cobbin of Denver, Colorado; Robert Harrell of Riverside, California; Henry Harrell of Moreno Valley, California, and Gerald Grant of Camden, Arkansas; 5 great nieces, Alicia Douglas of Camden, Arkansas; Kimberly Douglas (Tyrone) of Bragg City, Arkansas; Crystal Douglas of Harmony Grove, Arkansas; LaToya Grant of Camden, Arkansas; Shanice Sullivan Grant of Little Rock, Arkansas; 4 great nephews, David Douglas III of Chidester, Arkansas, Shannon Douglas of Dalla, Texas; Gerald Jerome Grant and De'Vante Grant of Little Rock, Arkansas; and a host of relatives and friends.
