The journey of life for Mr. Vernon Lee Watts began on August 24, 1950, when he was born to Mrs. Lillie Mae (Massie) Watts and Mr. Wilbert Watts.

Vernon Lee Watts, age 72, went home to be with the Lord on December 8, 2022.

Vernon was a native of Camden, Arkansas but called Douglasville, Georgia his home for the past 30 plus years. He graduated from Santa Ana Valley High School in 1968. He enrolled in the army, where he served two years in the Vietnam War. Vernon returned home from the army to attend Long Beach State College, where he earned a bachelor's degree. He was a sports fan that enjoyed watching football, fishing, working on cars, and visiting with family and friends.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents, Lillie Mae Watts and Wilbert Watts, as well as his brother Leroy Watts.

Vernon leaves to cherish his memories: two daughters: April Watts and Stephanie Watts,  his beloved brother: John (Ada) Watts, his sisters: Marie Parrett, Joyce Baker, Patsy Watts, Mattie Faye (Watts) Harris and Annette Watts along with each siblings' children.  He also leaves behind a host of cousins, family, and friends who will greatly miss him. Vernon will be remembered as a hard-working, loving, and funny father, brother, and uncle.
