William "Bigman" Nettles was born April 23, 1942, to Ida Nettles and Johnny Thrower. He accepted Christ at an early age. During his youth he was a member of Holly Grove Baptist Church.

He was a graduate of Ouachita High School. He worked in the logging industry as a skidder driver over 50 years.

He was preceded in death by his Mother, Ida Hartley, his father, Johnny Thrower, his stepfather, Frank Hartley, a daughter, Lorraine Nettles, his brothers, Frank Hartley, Jr. and Clyde Nettles.

From his union with Norma Nelson there were 3 children, William Nettles, Jr., Vickie Scott and Lorraine Nettles.

He married Sandra Myles on August 01,1975. To this union a daughter, Roslyn Nettles was born. He also became a father to Monique Myles and Kema Myles whom he loved as his own.

He leaves to cherish him memory his children: William (Tina) Nettles, Jr., Vickie (Eric) Scott and Roslyn Nettles. His siblings: Fanny E(Frank) Dawn, Hattie Cones, Irma Guster, Silas (Linda) Hartley, Jake Hartley, Kent (Letetia) Thrower and Bundra (Kia) Thrower. His grandchildren: Elisia, Jarrod, Thomasine, Keshawn, Breanna, Kemaki, and William III, one great-grand Sage.
